February Store Event: Identifying Assymmetries or Risk for Injury
Posted by Rolling Sands on 4th Feb 2015
Understand how your body moves, your flexibility or inflexibility concerns, if you're balanced from right to left side, and if you are at risk or injury.
The Functional Movement Screening (FMS) is a screening tool used to identify limitations or asymmetries in seven fundamental movement patterns that are key to functional movement quality in individuals with no current pain complaint or known musculoskeletal injury.
These movement patterns are designed to provide observable performance of basic loco motor, manipulative and stabilizing movements by placing an individual in extreme positions where weaknesses and imbalances become noticeable if appropriate mobility and motor control is not utilized.
Have you noticed nagging injuries with your sport or fitness routine? Do you want to improve your efficiency? Are you looking to start a new exercise program but want to make sure you are safe and ready?
These are all good reasons to do an FMS screen and get moving well!
Join us on February 21st between 10am - 12pm for your FREE 15-minute Functional Movement Screening. We are accepting reservations for each of the available time slots. Please allow 20 minutes for the screening and a review with the Physical Therapist. Call 303.422.1452 to reserve your spot.
The screening is designed for individuals who are healthy and active, or athletic. These seven movements will challenge your balance and your strength, but are limited in duration and repetitions. Here are the 7 movements you'll be doing...
A special thanks to Cherry Creek Wellness Center, Becky Kellogg (Physical Therapist), and Stephanie Uszacki (Certified Athletic Trainer and Exercise Specialist) for offering the screening to our valued customers!
